Description

A refreshing, tangy, and slightly spiced herbal drink made with hibiscus (roselle), ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and fresh cucumber. This vibrant red beverage is rich in antioxidants and cooling on hot days. Naturally caffeine-free and perfect as a hydrating, tropical wellness drink.

Instructions

  1. In a pot, bring to a boil:
    • 4 cups of water
    • ½ cup dried or fresh roselle petals
    • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger (sliced)
    • 1 cinnamon stick
    • 3–4 cloves
  2. Let it boil gently for 5–10 minutes.
  3. Turn off heat and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
  4. Grate cucumber and add it to the cooled drink.
  5. Stir in sugar to taste (start with 2–3 tablespoons).
  6. Strain the mixture to remove solids.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  8. Serve cold over ice, optionally garnished with mint or cucumber slices.

Notes

  • You can replace sugar with honey or panela.
  • Add a squeeze of lime for extra zing.
  • For a fizzy version, mix with sparkling water before serving.
  • Roselle may stain surfaces—handle with care!
